IN response to Glenn Wilson’s letter “Booze causes bigger problems than smokes” (The Border Mail, August 11).
Does booze make people resort to violence, abuse or other antisocial behaviour?
No, people are responsible for their actions.
Is booze responsible for people drink-driving?
No, booze does not give you the keys.
Being irresponsible, however, may make you grab the keys.
Perhaps we need to start taking responsibility for our actions.
Perhaps we should be required to hold a RCA (Responsible Consumption of Alcohol) to buy or consume alcohol.
Booze itself is not doing any harm but attitude and the excessive consumption are.
Every cigarette is doing you harm and it is not only the smoker that is being harmed.
