 Ad glorifies bad behaviour

Ad glorifies bad behaviour

9/08/2008 1:00:00 AM
THERE is on Channel Seven and Prime TV a car advertisement in which an obvious father figure and some very young children wearing brilliant red boxing gloves punch and shatter the inside of a house, and various items like a TV screen and other household goods.

Then very gleefully they walk off into a vehicle, the young children thumping the seats as they drive off.

This advertisement is to the say the least most anti-social in its implied message, particularly to young children, who would misconstrue it to see such violent behaviour as acceptable.

Albury has already experienced gang violence by very young persons, as well we often read reports of domestic violence in our area.

Such an ad glorifying this type of unacceptable and anti-social behaviour it completely unacceptable on our screens.

Channel Seven and Prime TV, remove it from our screens.
